And I'm not just talking about things like a Slinky, and Etch-a-Sketch, and an Easy Bake Oven. (although they were GREAT) Dig deeper than that. Think of something that you made perhaps. Or something unusual that's not normally considered a toy.

(Personally, I had a long rope, a board, and a piece of rug rigged up to my swing set. It was my magic carpet! I would sit on it, teetering to and fro, and fly over the Seven Wonders of the World!)

I'd love to hear from anyone Internationally, since toys vary all over the world. :-)

  1. My favorite toy was a doll that my aunt and I made.  The doll had a really big plastic head and a small fabric body.  She had bright yellow yarn hair. Her head would fall off all the time because it was to big for her body so I would take her to my grandma to sew it back on.  My grandma and I still laugh about it.

  2. It's not even a toy. It's actually a brown eye mask. I would wear it as child & tied a bath towel around my neck & named myself BIONIC ZORRO. I still have a photo of me dressing up as Bionic Zorro when I was about 5yo.

It's cheap, simple yet fun to play.

  3. my imagination was best..i had epic wars with my toys

my favorite toys were my transformers, all of them - but especially my megatron and dinobot 2

  4. barbies

  5. my favourite toy was unusual it was a card board box that was as big to fit a fridge in it (i was only about 5/6 so it was really big to me) and i painted it different colours which i had thought it was pretty and i used it as my house and by boat and different things. Now i think that i was so weird but cut with a wild imagination but i still look back and remember how much fun i had!

  6. Legos are epic. They got my creative juices flowing. And I can't bring myself to throw them out now.

  7. Sooty and Sue!!

  8. My favorite toy when i was a kid was teddy bear and stuff toys. Sometimes i play LEGO too.

  9. Okay not your typical toy - all of the kids in our neighborhood would love it when someone would get a new appliance and give us the box. It would become a big fort or colouring canvas for all the little kids and we would play with it for hours, sometimes days on end. Then later when we would bore of it - the teenagers would cut it up and break dance on it, which was fun to watch too.

Me and my brother also used to make paper planes and clamp legos to the wings - if you threw them up in the air (or down from a distance) they would go into these tremendous spins which kept us amused for hours trying to see which combination of plane type and number of legos used would make for the best reaction.
