What was your first deployment like(in any military)?

Describe the feeling and emotions. Im planning to join the navy SEALs program BUD/s when I turn 18. Thanks yo.

From a wife of a soldier I can tell you that a soldier will not talk about this! The things they see and the emotions are private, something they keep to themselves.

My husband has been deployed twice, I know very little about it. I send flowers to the wives he ask es me to, and am always willing to listen, but he never talks about iraq. I have been around a lot of his fellow soldiers, but never once have I ever heard any of them talk about these things.

My first real deployment was to the Caribbean. We toured several different islands and visited a few that hadn't seen an American warship in over 20 years! It was an adventure that I could never had afforded on my own. I stayed in the Navy for 21 years and saw 90% of the world. Going SEALS / Buds is a tough route, if you can hack it, you're part of an elite force. I can tell you it's not kindergarten by any means.

my husband had been on many temporary duty assignments and we had lived in japan for a while..but his first orders to the desert...left him with anxiety attacks and all kinds of other issues...he has since been back twice looking at a third...it was something he had to deal with...and it was hard on us as a family..but we have grown some since then...
