  1. Yesterday was my first time and I was like you, they are awesome!

  2. It will feel like nothing...unless you put it on inside out ( i did ) and it stings a little, but all you have to do is flip it

  3. there were lots and lots tears for me :)

but its pretty easy after the first time.

  4. Nerve wracking: the first time I had a lens in my eye, it was put there by someone who'd never done it before: we were both optometry students.

It's like learning to ride a bicycle: it seems impossible until you get the hang of it, and then it rapidly becomes routine.

Just listen carefully to the advice given, and stick to it.

In twenty years fitting contacts, I only had four people I couldn't teach.

Some needed hardly any practice, a few needed multiple sessions.

  5. I was 9 and hard a very hard time putting them in.  I managed to get one in very easily, but not the other.  I remember calling my mom at work crying and screaming over it.  But, within a few days, even at 9 years old, it was very easy.  You just have to get used to not blinking when you touch the lens to your eye.  The doctor will give you some tips and put them in the first time.  Ask if you can practice at the office.

You'll be fine, conatcts are thinner and easier now.  In a day or two, at most, it will seem completely normal to you.

  6. Don't worry too much about it. I've had contacts for many years and nothing like that has happened. It will, however, be very strange putting them in/removing them for the first few times. You'll get used to it, though

  7. I've had contact lens for nine months, and I love them.

At first I was SO nervous, and at first it was SO hard to get them in, but after a few days I could put them in and take them out easily.  At first, I would blink when the contact lens touched my eye, or even before it touched my eye, but I got used to the touch of it.  You shouldn't do this if your optician doesn't think it's a good idea, but my optician had me, on my own, hold my eye open as if I was going to put a lens in, look up, and lightly press the white of my eye for 1/2 a second.  This got me used to something touching my eye, and also used to the idea that my eyes are not as fragile as I thought they were.  Just make sure your hands are VERY clean before doing this, though.  If when you keep trying to put them in, you keep blinking when the lens touches your eye, and your eye is getting red, then stop, becuase your eye will only get more irritated and it will only get harder to put them in.
