Did they use you as much as they could bc they knew your time was almost up? Are there changes in living conditions? Did you not get to contact your family or use the computer often (even less then before)? Just asking bc I have a bf whos in Iraq for his last month and want to know how its going for him, even though i spoke to him a few days ago, we didnt talk for THAT long

  1. I agree - the last month is getting the new guys set up on the job and training them in everything you have to turnover to them. Also you are outprocessing - getting all your evals, records, etc squared away. There is a lot to do in addition to getting ready to pack and hanging out with your friends for the last time. You may have less computer time because you are now sharing the computer with your replacement, etc. Just hang in, he's just as anxious to come home as you are to see him again.

  2. During the last month you have change over, so there are twice as many people trying to use the phones/computers.  You have more debriefings and for the AF you have to "out-process."  Not sure if the other branches do that.  It all takes time and then you know that you'll be seeing your loved one soon, so all of this could be why you're not hearing from him as much.

Hang in there, it's almost over.

  3. I think it depends on whether he needs to train his relief and do an extensive quick turnover or if they've overlapped his billet or the units. If he's smart hs is busy making copies of all the papers and sniffing around for a job in the internet too!!  And of course he is anxious to see you and his family - but he does need a job!!
