  1. Ha ha, I was just thinking about this this morning.

I was at the gym last night doing some squats with my workout partner, when a girl came over to the squat rack next to us, and asked if anyone was using it since they was still weight on the bar. I told her I hadn't seen anyone there, and asked if she had wanted to use the rack? She said she did, so I went over and took the weight off the bar for her, set the bar back on the rack, then went back to spot my workout partner. My buddy gave me c**p because I'm normally a jerk in the gym, but I actually felt good about that.

    good question.

  8. I took time out of my very busy day to slow down and have a long conversation with a lonely wise elder gentleman.

  9. Last weekend we had a humane society mutt strut fundraiser, and there were way more attendees than expected. Lots of little kids. As a fundraiser, we got tee shirts and goodie bags with a stuffed animal, miscellaneous stuff for the dogs, and coupons and such.

Upon checking in, we were given a poker chip to redeem at the next station for a tee shirt. A lady with two kids and one dog only got one tee shirt, and asked if she could buy another for the other child, and they said no. I gave her my chip so the kid could get a tee shirt, and went on.

Later, while my beagle and I were eating hot dogs in the food tent, I was sitting with a family who had a 3 year old little girl named Maddie. The wind blew her nachos away, and she started to cry. They didn't have enough money for another order, but she was finished anyway, but she sounded sad, and my dog kissed her and tried to get her to stop crying. Then I remembered the bag of treats, and gave her a little Snoopy stuffed animal that we got when we checked in. She immediately perked up and started smiling again.

Later in the walk, both parents came up to me to thank me. The crowd was so large, I had already forgotten about the tee shirt, but the kid was really happy and thanked me. It was a great day...everyone sharing and happy and lighthearted, and best of all, the fundraiser was a huge success, over double the expectation was raised.

Being surrounded by dedicated volunteers and lots of giving, sharing people, this was a minor thing. I saw people who had adopted severely abused pets, including one who was missing one eye and leg, and blind in the other eye. She was being pushed in a stroller, and was just adorably well mannered and happy to meet anyone. There were videos of shelter pets done up by kids, and it was right up there with the tearjerking quality of the ASPCA ads. Other people were doing things like facepainting, dog photos, cooking, dog paw print art, and so much else to raise money. It was one of the best days I have had in years. All around me were random acts of kindness.

  10. I decided to help someone learn about a subject & offered to send them a little each day so eventually it wouldn't be so overwheming. I did this today. Everyday, I inspire people, motivated them, help them see clearer. Make them feel uplifted, I do this by what I say to them. I help people who need treatment to find the right place & details. I make this a part of my life even though it happens randomly.
