  1. Mine was about 10 hours when I was ON the train.

After Hurricane Katrina, the trains in and out of New Orleans were usually 12-24 hours behind. Also, the Coast Starlight is usually about 8 hours behind

  2. 24 hours in Omaha. Missed connection in Chicago and they flew me to Omaha. Train from Chicago couldn't cross the Mississippi due to flooding so I had to wait for one to come from the west and turn around.

  3. over 24 hours (not sure exactly how long). a few years ago on the CA zephyr from chicago to ca, engines got screwed up on single tracked nevada desert (middle of nowhere). we had no a/c either. if i remember correctly, they delivered mc donalds and paper plates for dinner

  4. 6 hours in new orleans during that ice storm in december 1989 or 90...a bridge burned down in west texas...that was the reason for delay

  5. I had a wait of 4 hours travelling from Florence S.C. to Newark..
