  1. When me and my redneck pony (he literally came from redneck country...Alabama lol) beat over 22 people at a MAJOR Hunter/Jumper show :) we got two firsts and a second and Champion overall :) He sure is a good boy...WHEN HE WANTS TO BE hehe lol He is AWESOME when he wants to be but he can be a total brat too. He was amazing at that show, I wish he was like that at all of them ^^

  2. I have 2. The first was our first time at the  beach at a gallop. and then our first time swimming. when the water became deep enough for him to actually swim, i was bareback and had only a halter and lead rope on. whoooooo hoooooo

  3. i was riding my pinto Missouri Fox Trotter, and she is 7 and can be antsy at times so we were riding in a knew place and my other horse Midnight our Appy, bit her butt, and she  ran away and a deer appeared out of no where and scared her and she reared i fell she almost landed on my face but i caught her hoof and threw her off. I swear that sounds fake but i tell you it was real and i was so scared my face was going to get my face smashed.

  4. I went out one day with one of a freind on a trail. I was using his horse who is the smoothest in the world and he was riding another horse. He said once we got to the back rode we could cut them loose. I had no idea what he meant by cut loose, (although now it seems obvious) but a lot of things he said still make no sense to me! So i didnt ask and we rode along the highway until we eventually turned onto a blank dirt road. After halfway down that road he told me we could do it now. I still didnt understand so i blindly asked what he meant! He said we'd let them go as fast as they could down the long stretch of nothingness. He counted off with a ready, set, go! And we shot off down the road! The horse i was on was generally a smooth ride but once we got going into a fast-paced gallop it was like i was on a speeding bullet. We raced to the edge of the road and transitioned to a trot as we turned the corner. For that moment going as fast as i could i felt so free, like nothing i ever had before. I cant describe how exhilerating it was. When they finally slowed to a walk the adrenaline was pulsing through me making my breath stagger as my heart leapt in my ribcage. I felt like i had gotten the slightest chance to feel how free the horses must feel running like that, living like that. That was only one of my favorite riding moments.

  5. I remember the first time i really went fast on my horse, we were in the cornfield, i gave him the kick... then we started to go, it felt like we were flying. I love that, now hes older and its a little harder each year to go that fast... i will always remember.

  6. Most exciting (and probably stupidest) was taking an ex-race horse on my galloping trail (wide and long grass road) with only a halter, leadline and helmet. No bridle or saddle. Nothing. He seemed to be listening so I decided to take a short gallop. As a precaution I pointed him toward the end of the trail (trees block off the end). He started with a nice canter and began to pick up speed. After about 10 strides we hit a nice gallop and gained speed from their. The ride was amazing. The speed combined with my inability to stop and lack of saddle was exhillerating(sp?)!! Jazz can hit 35 (I used a GPS to get that number) and I am pretty sure he hit about 25. Well he swerved before the trees (smart pony)  which slowed him down enough to get him thinking about my stop command. He went down to a trot and I jumped off. Definently an exciting day!

  7. my most exciting moment on a horse is my was my 1st riding lesson. someone came in to the arena with a pitch fork and the horse spooked. he galloped out into the pasture (the gate was open) and I stayed on the whole time.

  8. The first time a galloped my horse, right after I learned he was mine. =D

  9. When i won my champion as i nearly fell of when he stop dead steal from the canter. he was 16 years old and was the first horse of his stud to win a champion under saddle in an Arabian ring.

  10. it was probably today when i brought one of my Tennessee Walkers to a event that was raising money for a non-profit retirment farm for horses. We did awsome for our first time in a ring with microphones and flags.  It was great and i plan to do more things with him like this as well as represent the TWHBEA trail program/ ennicietive in Connecticut.

  11. mine was the first time i ever galloped. i was 8 or 9 and all i remember is feeling like i was flying along in this field along telephone wire poles.

  12. probably when i train horses to jump especially the natural jumpers. I've owned 3 horses and have trained all 3 of them to jump and they have different jumping styles but they were all naturals at it and the horse i owned now i've got him at 40cm as a starting block until he gets more confidence jumping.

    :)
