What was your reaction after hearing a "response" to a question you asked on an EVP?

How many set up the recorder to record in "one" spot or do you walk around with the recorder?

I watched Ghost Hunter last night and they had a repeat of the Halloween show at the Stanley. When they were walking around in that tunnel they were doing EVP work and audibly heard someone say Hello twice. This freaked me out and I had nightmares all night long. I wouldn't be able to sleep for a week if I got a response!

It's always VERY exciting!  I carry the recorder with me and walk around - I have had very little success with leaving a recorder in an empty room.  I just decided it was because those people want to interact, not just talk to an empty room. lol

I've gotten some very good ones.

I have heard no compelling EVPs.  The main reason for this is because the asker says something like, "Is anyone there?" and the response is, "barfin banjo death"  or some other nonsensical phrase.  That sort of response means nothing to me.  I would ask specific, *verifiable* questions like, "What is your full name?" or "What is the date of your death?"  That way you get some specific data you can check up on rather than some random events of auditory pareidolia that really mean and indicate nothing at all.

A few years back I got my hands on some nice high quality digital recording equipment. I tried setting it up and leaving it for hours. I tried talking to spirits and telling them to talk into the mic. I spent a lot of time, and never got evps.

I eventually gave up.

But if I did get something, I would probably have been excited and intrigued. My wife on the other hand was scared everytime she saw me reviewing the files. She was afraid I would get something.

I have never tried it. Just thinking about it makes my hair stand up. That means I think it's cool. Don't know that I would hang around that place much. I would never do it at home because I don't want to know if there are lingering spirits or imprints in the house I occupy. I would do it somewhere else though.

I was so shocked I thought I would get absolutely nothing  on my cell phone but was so very shocked to hear a Yes to my question after that I was scared outta my shorts! When I heard Creepy voice after.
