  1. I request you to put some music near your children a bit slow while the latter is asleep since I'm told also to do so

  2. Well I would try as early as possible just in case there is a reaction, I never started with any specific color or type. My son started on bananas, applesauce, greenbeans, peaches, squash, pears, carrots..I altered fruits and vegetables..my son is not picky at all and eats everything :)

I started with a tiny amount, it took him 2-3 days to really get the hang of it and open his mouth and all that.

I did once a day for about 2 weeks and then moved up to twice a day. I always give the bottle first so he gets the usual amount of formula. He started on about a tablespoon and he'll now eat a whole container.

I usually give him the food after the second bottle and then around the dinner time bottle and he'll have his nightime bottle before bed,

Also, Im not sure how your son was feeling, but I also got the go ahead at the 4 month, and my son had his shots, and he was a bit fussier and it was the wrong time to try and introduce a new thing, so if you notice him being a little cranky...my advice is to wait a couple days. I waited a couple days after the initail attempt and it went much better. :)

    hope this helps

  3. FIrst off, the fact that you 'can' start solids at 4 months doesn't mean you have to, or that they will benefit baby in any way.  At this age he's still at high risk for allergies, and rather unlikely to have all the developmental signs of readiness for solids, so -- given that the AAP DOES recommend waiting until around 6 months (barring clear signs of need earlier), I would just wait.  All he needs is his milk, and if he's hungry, better to give more milk than to replace it with veggies.

But ... if you really want to start solids this early, there is no one 'right' way to do it, beyond VERY slowly and gradually.  You don't have to give the foods in the order the doctor sugggests.  Yellow veggies are no more digestable or more nutritious than green veggies, and the idea that if you start with fruit babies will refuse veggies has been long disproved.  (I'm starting to guess that your doctor may be an older man/woman?  The recommendations are VERY outdated.)

But again, start with whatever you want.  Offer once a day, at any time that is convenient for you.  I wouldn't start at bedtime (if he has a bad reaction, you don't want to be up all night) but after any morning or afternoon bottle is fine. (Always give solids AFTER the bottle, so he doesn't fill up on them and take less milk.  The idea here is that solids are just for fun -- supplements to the milk that is, at this age, 99.9% of his calories and nutrition.)

Start with about a teaspoon. If he can eat it (opens his mouth for the spoon, swallows it, and enjoys it), offer a bit more tomorrow, and gradually increase as he enjoys it and can tolerate/digest it.  Offer new foods every 3-5 days.  I wouldn't go to twice a day until  he's at least 6 months old.

If he spits the food out or doesn't like it or you have to trick him into opening his mouth, he isn't ready, so wait a few weeks and try again.

This IS all just for fun ... so if isn't fun, stop.

(FWIW, I started feeding solids at 5 1/2 months [recommendations were different then, '4-6 months months'] -- and started with cereal, just once a day at varying times.)

  4. I would say that the most important thing is to make eating fun for you son, so it's important that u don't seem worried or  stressed. So even some fun music on in the background, might help to start. I did this and I started my daughter with cooked and blended carrots. She got one spoonful in her mouth to taste and the 1st day most of it was just worked around her mouth then spat out with her tongue. However on the 2nd day again at the same time she ate it then on the 3rd she wanted another spoonful. However your son maybe different just let him take his time, there is no rush so don't pa nick because he will be getting all he needs from his milk.

  5. At four months we gave our son one new food every 4 days...he got one meal (breakfast) and we mixed it with rice cereal...at 5 months we started giving him breakfast(fruit) and lunch (veggie)...then at 6 months he was getting 3 meals a day-breakfast lunch and dinner (fruit, veggie, and another veggie normally), by 8 months he was getting (fruit, veggie, and a meat) and now at 11 months he has 3 meals a day and 2 snacks a day. We started him off on applesauce then sweet potatoes...then carrots...and then another fruit...we went back and forth from fruit to veggie as we added new ones in every 4 days. Best of luck!
