The first three years were sweet.  Then my primary carer had a heart attack and died whilst my mother was at work, there was no one home except us, they found me curled up on her lap, my mother went into emotional denial and i never was the same again ....

American born in a rural village in post-war Japan, then Alaska for childhood.  My memories of Japan are filled with ancient gardens, gentle refined Japanese girls who taught me how to arrange flowers, and a poker game in the basement for U.S. G.I.s. My memories of Alaska are filled with natural wonders and grizzly bears and learning how to fish. Throughout, there were brothers who were so wild, they bordered on the orangutan.

I was born in an army base hospital in a part of the country where country music is really big... the doctor apparently thought I was the most beautiful baby he'd ever seen (in fact,  I imagine it was my mother he fancied) and my father brought her a bunch of poppies to celebrate my birth.  Somehow they got the day of my birthday wrong and so it wasn't until I was 17 years old that I discovered I was born a day earlier than everyone had thought  :)
