I've been giving my four month old nursery water for about a month now and i just decided that i needed to do some on-line research on it and found out that because it contains fluoride, its not good for babies!!!!! d**n i wish someone would have told me that a month ago. I'm never giving her that c**p again but now I'm wondering if plan old bottled water would do or maybe distilled, instead of having to get up in the middle of the night boil water to sanitize it,wait for it to cool..blah blah by then i have a screaming baby on my hands! does anyone know if bottled water would work just as well? please just honest serious answers only..thanks.

.........concerned first time mommy.

  1. I go fill up the bottles with water and at night I just fill up the bottle and put formula and he's perfectly fine that's my way

  2. I personally think using bottled water is just fine, that is what I used with my babies, with no problems.

  3. Well my aunt use's aquafina I dont know if itssomething the doctore recommended but that is all she uses even when I babysit for her she brings her own bottles. Just ask your doctor

  4. I've used bottled water before, my son is fine. He's 4mths too. I usually use nursery water or else filtered water from the sink. He's been fine with both of those too.

I have WIC, and they gave me a pamphlet saying that tap water is best because of the minerals that it has in it. But I think it really depends on where you live. We all know that some water aren't as good as water in other places.

  5. Where I live (England) we are not supposed to give our babies tap water or bottled water. Everywhere gives different advice. This is what we are supposed to do.

Boil the kettle (always use fresh water, never use water that has already been boiled) and let it cool for 40 minutes. She then told me to make up a few bottles at a time with the WATER ONLY and leave them to stand. Don't refrigerate as it's only water and will stay fresh. When you are ready to feed your baby just add the formula. If you want to can warm the bottle at this stage by standing in a jug of hot water but as my midwives pointed out, it is fine to give babies milk at room temperature and that is what it will be. Also it saves time and that is key in the middle of the night when your baby is crying. And there you go, fresh milk made in 30 seconds flat.

  6. all water has flouride...even bottle water that you drink.....nursery water is the same as distilled....i believe both are fine to give.....the only need to boil water is if your using well water or any water coming not from your town water facility .

  7. Boil the water with a few fennel seeds, the colour will change but its the best for your baby as it will prevent her from getting colic and is very good for digestion. My baby did brilliantly with that and never suffered from colic.

  8. boiled water

  9. I give my daughter bottled Evian, its enriched with added minerals. I dont sterlize it. Twice a day, I heat it up to boiling point and then just put some in a thermos, that lasts the whole day and when I make up a bottle, I add cool water straight from the bottle. She's had no problems whatsoever.

  10. what i do is boil a whole bunch of water at one time for 10 min and use a funnel to to pour the water into like an old water jug / milk jug! it really saves time!  but i also use bottle water too! hopes this helps!

  11. my doc said to boil any water until she got her tetanus shot; bottled included; i just boil a big pot and put in the fridge every day
