Question:

What watt amplifier should i get for two 12" kicker comp subs?

i currently have just a 10" inch visionik sub running on a 500 watt power acoustik amp but im getting two 12" kicker comp subs.will the 500 watt power the subs.if not what watt amp does anyone recommend?thanks

  1. Combined those subs have a peak wattage of 600. Your amp is only 500 watts, so you could get a bigger amp.  I used to have two 12" kicker comps and I ran them off of a 1000 watt Crunch amp and it worked just fine, never blew them.  So yeah if you want to push those subs to their extent, get a bigger amp. Just not too big.


  2. wait i was wrong about the first post i misunderstood and thought you said 10'' inch for some reason. but yea the other guy is right you can push those subs harder with a 600watt amp but  you only can run them at 300watts rms.
