What wattage amp would be best to upgrade to?

I currently have 2 Jensen Dual 12" Subs in my car and a Kicker 200.2 (2 channel 200 watt amp) in my car I'm looking to upgrade the amp any idea's what would be a good amp and wattage to upgrade to? My subs max power are 600 each so max wattage is 1200. I basically just want my car to be louder than it is now. I went to Best Buy and the guy there told me that the power and bass level has nothing to do with the amp that I probably have something wrong with my sub, there's nothing wrong with my subs. So if anyone could maybe help me and let me know what wattage amp or what not I would need, or what I can do to my system to make it louder that'd be great. Thanks.

those subs arnt very well built ne way so go ahead and get a 1000 watt sony xplod. but they wont last very long so get some 600 watt kickers or type r's those will be the best upgrade for you

The amp isnt your problem, its the subs. The duals are the cheapest subs out there and they are nothing but paper and cardboard. If you can keep your box find some better subs to put in the box. If not save up for a better box and sub combo. I know Circuit City has some really decent deal on Infinity or JBLs. Alpine Type Rs are really nice as well (Type X if you want to go all out.) You will have to upgrade your amp down the road, but thats an excellent amp for the money.
