Question:

What wattage do i need in a bedroom bulb to make sure reading is possible 75 watts 100 watts?..?

I am talking about the bulb that hangs on the ceiling..i want to know the recommended wattage for a bedroom bulb if i read and write inside the room at evening and night and other times when its dark,the bedroom is average size?..

  1. It depends on what you are comfortable with. If your eyes get tired fast and start itching/burning, then you may need more light.

    Usually a small lamp that can be directed directly on to your work would be more beneficial, and would eliminate any shadows that a ceiling light often causes.

    100 watts should be bright enough for reading and writing.

  3. the brightness of a light is one thing,but be sure to check what wattage your light can use....many fixtures can not take more than 60 watts safely.By putting more wattage in a fixture than recommended  can cause a fire.
