What wattage to run my american bass?

Question

I got these american bass off the street a while back. They are black and say american bass excellence in (something either quality or sound). I was about to go throw like a 3-600 watt amp on them, then i noticed they RUN competitions. I guess my question would be do they even make low wattage speakers? Or should I just throw a 1000+ watt amp on them? I know ill fry a small amp if its not right. And american bass said they need to see the speaks in person to tell, cause they r handmade

well sense you don't have a specific name or model and the competition you should just run 500 watts threw it first and see it works and if you care enough to put any money into it upgrade it to a 1000 watt and if it doesn't work  connect the 500 watt back to it and i guess thats your set up.
