  1. There are only 3 ways, no matter what drug you are talking about:

    Cold turkey

    Weening off

    Using substitute drugs

Rehab is just a facility were they aid you in doing one of the above 3.

  2. there are 2 types of drugs phiscically addicting and only psycologically addicting....

phiscical ones would be opiates like heroin etc...

    psycological would be meth etc...

and coke though is thought to be non-addicting phisically stil IS VERY POWERFUL, EMOTIONALLY ENSLAVING! so it falls somewhere along the lines...

well because your body never craves the meth or ecstasy you wont get withdrawl symptoms- you just quit them in your mind and stay strong...it wont affect your body...tho you might crave psycologically...mind over matter is your motto here...

as for phisically addiciting ones, quiting, you WILL experience withdrawl symptoms IN ADDITION TO SEVERE CRAVING PSYCOLOGICALLY!

if you are on heroin it will take 2 weeks for you to get your system cleaned of the drug intoxication...this process will give you NASTIEST EVER, flu like symtoms...the beauty of the situation is that no matter how nasty you feel you wont die, unlike alcohole addicts...but those withdrawl symtoms are though GREATLY POSSIBLE TO ENDURE, just that they are overdramatised by media and addicts themselves thinking this tolerable thing is intolerable torture only because they are always flying in some "heavenly' highs...in rehabs though they most likely put you on substitute drugs, for heroin it might be methadone which is a pain killer which keeps the withdrawl symptoms at bay, but wont give you the high the heroin gives you...on its own if you switched from heroin to methadone the withdrawl will take months...so the best way is to lock yourself up somewhere where you can be as sick as you can get detoxifying naturally without being bothered by anyone...stuff up your fridge for this time with best delicasies your mind may come up to reward yourslef for enduring the "hellish' experience of detoxification...but it is important to have someone to support you also...

so when you are past those symtoms comes the CHALLENGE OF STAYING CLEAN...relaps mostly happens because you are extremly bored(that`s the unpleasnt feeling when you came down from the drug and all of a sudden all sober), so keep yourself the busiest you can till you get comaftable with your new state...

  3. Narconon provides a new answer.  It helps get a person off drugs without much of the pain and then follows up with courses that help improve a person's ability to cope (which is why they got in trouble with it in the first place).

You can find out more about it at www.narconon.org.

  4. The answer to this question depends entirely on what kind of drug you mean.  There are different methods that are effective for different addictions.  Please elaborate, and we can answer more accurately.

  5. The safest way I reckon is to learn a self-administered system/method.

called EFT which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and is based on Acupuncture WITHOUT the needles and is administered by Tapping on a series of points on the face and the body. You'll find self -study and outside help on the link below. Self study is free, I mean Totally free! Just download it the "manual'.

  6. As drugs are generally a synthetic/chemical problem, the best way to fight fire is with fire (metaphorically speaking, of course. You'd fight a real fire with water) and send the addict to rehab. There they can provide medical treatments for the drugs which can counteract the body's chemical need to take the drug. This is one area in which you would seek professional and conventional medical help for the problem to give you a successful chance of rehabilitation.

  7. lock yourself in your house and change your cell phone number.

rehab is the best because they help you detox and help you straighten out your mind so its easier when you get home.

its never easy esp if you are trying to do it alone

at home rehab usually doesnt work at all.

  8. cold turkey, either voluntarily or through being locked up in jail
