  1. It depends on the school. In my school we do some weapons training, but generally tae kwon do doesn't use weapons. But we use both feet and hands.

  2. TKD is basically an unarmed system. In the 1960's TKD students rarely practiced the weapons seen today. These days many sport TKD schools have incorporated some of the Okinawan and Japanese weapons. A few of them are: bo, nunchaku, sai, ....

NOTE: there are at least 75 different styles of Tae-Kwon-Do practiced in Korea.

  3. If you really want to help him look it up yourself on the net for him print the info out there you have it.

    Good Luck

  4. Were I went it was mainly hand/ feet but we did do staff training and i believe they are now doing nun-chuck training. We also learnt defence from knives. It really depends were you go.

  5. Yes and no. Taekwondo is the way of the fist and foot, which means that the only weapons your going to use is your body. however many schools tend to mix weapons from other martial arts like karate or Kung Fu, so some schools do and some don't.  If they do they usually use nunchucks, staff, and maybe sword, sometimes more are added soemtimes not.

  6. im not sure if they do but if they do it would be a staff
