  3. are you refering to the D-day battle of normandy? if so

    the allies used :

    M1 Garand rifles ('the gun that won the war')

    M1 Carbine (less power, more versatility, bigger clip size)

    Thompson (or Tommy Gun)

    the BAR (heavy machine gun)

    Colt .45 handgun

    The 30cal (american machinegun)

    M1a1 Bazoka

    Springfeild 04 sniper

    Sten (submachinegun)

    Lee Enfeild (rifle)

    M1a3 grease gun

  4. Cannon fire from allied ships and bombing an strafing from allied planes followed by infantry soldiers using M-1 Garrands and some M-1 Carbines and 1911 .45 cal pistols according to rank and work detail... US soldiers that is.

    Some Springfield 1903 Models(Bolt Actions) were there in some capacities as well.  Small numbers of the Thompson 45 Sub-machine gun and the grease gun also a .45 cal.

    There was also hand grenades and bazookas and heavier machine guns(.30 cal. Browning / air and water cooled) along with tanks with cannon and machine guns as well.

    And of course the trained soldier.
