Check with your community college.  Many offer courses in woodworking.  You will gain more skills by actually using the tool than you could ever get from a book.  In addition, the instructor will teach you the SAFE way to use these tools.  Both of these tools have their cutting edges exposed and can hurt you so fast you'll never know what hit you.  Good luck.

Forget web page. Goto Youtube. There's a lot of helpful videos. That's an awesome combination of tools. Very useful.

And if you haven't bought them, yet, check out the Amazon reviews on various tools. They are very thorough.

Forget webpages and Youtube! A router is a dangerous power tool. If you go the wrong direction while it's running ,you could get hurt seriously! Ask around,someone you know either knows how or knows someone that knows how to properly use one. This isn't something you want to be guessing at ,it will hurt you. Power tools don't stop when you scream!  If nothing else,drive by a cabinet shop,or construction site. You may have to endure some ridicule and laughter, but you will only damage your pride.At leats you'll still have all your fingers!
