Well, that's a loaded question.  Your state secretary of state, would have a website where you can check for unclaimed property.  

However, inheritances are different - if it's in the will, the executor of the estate should have tried to contact you.  If it's not in the will, the court should have appointed someone as estate administrator, who should have tried to contact you.

You'll really have to check with the probate court in the jurisdiction of the deceased.
