  1. Depends how detailed you want to get.

http://www.howstuffworks.com/airplane.ht... - Decent starting place - explains things in fairly easy to understand terms.  I can't say that this is a reliable source for college-level work (some parts are pretty opinionated), but it'll get you started.

http://www.av8n.com - LOTS of theory - not a quick answer, but very thorough.

EDIT:  Ok, my beef with the first site is that the author says that Bernoulli's principle is a flawed and simplified way of explaining lift, but he doesn't bring up any sort of mass airflow principle...  But that's way beyond what you're asking for.

  2. The best resource is Nasa.gov if you want technical info.

  3. Several.  One or two I can think of would possibly be:

    http://www.essortment.com/howdoairplane_...

    http://www.physlink.com/Education/AskExp...

    http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/k...

    http://inventors.about.com/library/inven...

  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lift_%28for...  From here you can click your way around and find some decent info.
