  1. www.expedia.com

    www.orbitz.com

    www.farecompare.com

Often though, getting the ticket directly through the airline's website is your best bet.  I know that American Airlines has a "lowest fare guarantee" and I've found that buying tickets directly through them is the same price, if not a couple of bucks cheaper, than the "discount" sites.

One good way to get your flight price down is to fly to/from major cities, not mid-sized or small ones.  Also, if a ticket price is $498 today, it could very well be less tomorrow or next week.  Keep checking back because ticket prices go up and down almost daily.  I still haven't figured out the rhyme or reason to the fluctuations though!

  2. Here is where you will find cheap airline tickets http://www.cassandralanetravel.org

  3. go to sidestep.com

what the site does is search every airline over the web to find you the best deals.

    hope this helps.

  4. travelocity.com

    orbitz.com

    jetblue.com

    southwest.com

  5. hotwire.com and cheapseats.com will give you really cheap tickets.  On hotwire, you also get the opportunity to get their lowest fare if you are flexible.  There is another one where you bid.  A lot of these sites are best at the last minute.  You might also try the deals section of travelocity.  I have sometimes found that the reduction in fares whehn you book a hotel is so great that you can get a  cheaper airfare and not even stay at the hotel!

Oh yes, there is another site, the one that William Shatner does ads for.  Something like priceline but I forget the exact name

  6. For cheap air tickets try to book on the weekdays instead weekends

this site has cheap air fares

    http://asianairfares.com

  7. Depends on where your traveling, is a last minute trip so it will probably be more expensive. Priceline.com almost always has the lowest prices, although it can vary, my last trip I booked trough Orbitz because it was the cheapest place I found the ticket, and the trip I am planning for october appears to be cheaper if booked on expedia. Yapta.com can track flight prices and if you buy and then the price drops they will refund the amount, the same thing is done by Orbitz.com.

  8. Sometimes if you go right to the airlines you can do standby which may be less expensive but if you are going a bit of a distance then you will have to do standby also at those flights.

Usually if you book way in advance you can get a decent price. If you are going continental why not try a bus line if you have enough time. But because of increased fuel prices I have found I am going to pay more for airline tickets along with bus tickets in the future. I got tickets at two of the places on the television the one with the gnome Travelocity and another I cannot remember. Sometimes if you look around online and compare you can get a better price by being really switched around a great deal but that costs money. If you are able to leave out of a larger airport and arrive in a larger airport often that cuts off connection flight costs which can be very high for a nonhub airport.  I can knock off sometimes a few hundred dollars by going in and out of a major city then get picked up or take a short bus ride into the smaller cities I desire to do to. We did this when going to England from London into the smaller city where my relatives are residing currently.

I was really ignorant when I went to visit relatives in Mexico I took a flight into Texas then down to a major city which cost more than if I had gone directly down to Miami from a major city locally then hopped over to a major tourist city then picked up a bus to the place I was going as it was so rural there were no airlines into it and I would never have had to take a propeller plane into Campeche if I had just gone to Cancun which has a major airport and is actually the same distance from where I was going as Campeche but as my relatives rarely go to Cancun they suggested Campeche which was horrible to get to that way and more than double the price to go to Cancun I learned later on because Cancun has regular flights.
