What website is best for stock buying?

I have never bought a stock before and Im only 17. I have studied some stocks and I dont know what is the best way to go about buying a few.

There's Fidelity, Scottrade, Ameritrade, and E*Trade. What should I use? How should I do it? Thanks

Don't forget about Zecco which has 10 free trades a month.  As most discount brokers charge $5-10 per trade that's a savings of $50-100 a month.

First of all, you will need to be at least 18 years old to open an individual brokerage account.  Otherwise, you will need to open a custodial account and have one of your parents cosign it with you.

I currently use Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com/ ).  They're cheaper than the big name brokers that you listed such as Fidelity, Socttrade, Ameritrade, and ETrade.  They're website is very easy to use, making them perfect for beginners.  I would definitely recommend them to you.

Yes, I am aware that Zecco offers free trades, but their 10 free trades a month deal requires that you deposit at least $2,500.  In addition, their website is very hard to use, definitely not for beginners.  They may seen cheap but Zecco is also known to charge unnecessary fees for other services.  I would not recommend using Zecco.

I recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself.
