im after a husky probably but what websites are there for buying dogs from breeders or pet shops etc????

Please do not buy a puppy from a listing on a website.  There are good breeders who advertise on them, but for the most part, good breeders don't have to advertise!  Suggest you contact the Secretary of the Breed Club.  They usually keep lists of puppies available in your chosen breed or can refer you to a good breeder.  Sorry, 'breeder' is NOT a nasty word, despite today's climate of hate towards us.  Most are doing their utmost to keep their stock sound and healthy.  Why would they do otherwise?  Yes, you can also contact your chosen breed rescue - but bear in mind taking on a rescue comes with a lot of extra work which you might not want, or be able to give.

And most definitely do not buy from a PET SHOP.

I realllly wouldn't recommend getting one online, its just not legit.  A dog is a big decision, please take the time to go to the store and pick one out.

If you don't have a particular breed in mind why not try the Dogs Trust.  We got our lovely dog from there and it felt good to home a homeless dog.  (Ours was a pup but they don't always have puppies)PS Please don't buy a dog from the internet unless you are sure they are proper breeders.  There are lots of people out there who are only interested in the money they can make not the dogs or you!!

Please do not buy a dog in this way because you may end up with a puppy who has been bred in a puppy farm. Contact the breed club and ask them for a list of reputable breeders or contact the kennel club for a list of breeders.

do a google search for a husky rescue in your area and check shelters. don't buy one from a breeder, that just encourages them to keep having more litters.
