What weight do I need to be at to enlist. Im a 21 yr old Female 5'10 195 pds. Are there any programs to help you loose weight for those wanting to enlist? What is the best way to loose weight while building up arm strength for push ups? Also, How long is AIT for transportion and MP? Thanks

  1. Yeah you seriously need to lose some weight if you want to enlist . Did your recruiter put you on a diet? When I was enlisting My recruiter was putting potential enlistee's on diets an making them come in for PT. I didn't have to I was blessed with good genetics and a high metabolism. This was also an active duty recruiter I don't know what guard recruiters do. GOOD LUCK

  3. I'm not sure what weight you have to be but you have to be in great condition to pass the p.t. test. since you are a woman it will be a lot more easier for you to pass

Your ideal weight is 168, if you weigh more than that you will be measured for body fat.  If you are considering joining I would strongly recommend running at least three times a week to build your cardio and doing various strength exercises to build your push ups.  The best way to build your push ups is to go to failure and then doing more on your knees.  Do this at about every other day and you will be able to increase your endurance and strength.  Cutting down on fatty foods will help a lot as well for weight loss.
