  1. I'd stick with what Ford recommends.

  2. you could go to 10W-20 or 10W-30 i wouldn't recommend switching the oil because you should always use what is recommended by the manufacturer because oil that is too thick will be hard on the oil pump.

  3. Look in the manual to see what range of oils is acceptable.  I've never found a car or truck that couldn't run just fine on 10w30.

  4. Ford recommends 5W30 for that vehicle in all climates.

  5. well i own a 1999 mercury cougar and i use 5W-30 and it runs perfect. with that you could switch it to 5W-30 and it wont effect it any. it's best to stick with a lower weight because this way the oil is thinner and can get everywhere in the engine to make sure everything is well lubricated. I would say 10W-30 would be way to thick for the engine to handle. if you use 10W-30 it is possible that it would cause future engine problems with it.

  6. myself i would stick with the 520, but if you want to go a little thicker the 530 will do you fine. 93,000 miles is not enough for any sever wear on engine parts unless you abuse it.

  7. Never fix what aint broke. If you are concerned about engine life - try one of those engine enhancing additives - but beware is all. I wouldn't do one thing different. It's like when a baseball player does the same thing before every game....

    Good luck
