What weird animal noise?

Question

last night at about 5 am there was a loud, low pitched grumbling, groaning noise coming from outside.

it wasn't a cat or a dog (i don't think) but it was so loud it sounded like it was coming from my garden even though the windows were shut.

could anybody please tell me what animanl i heard?

This is going to sound crazy but have you thought it could be hedgehogs?

They make weird noises. And they are nocturnal. Check wikipedia.

It actually could of been a domestic cat fight.

It sounds crazy but I heard the same noise along time ago.

My cat had gotten in a fight with a fat stray cat that someone adopted.

They never really fought but the fat cat kept making that same noise.

Then my other cat got in a fight with the same cat and got hurt really badly.We only new  that because we heard the noise again.It was so bad my cat could of died with in hours the vet said.

So if you ever hear that noise again jump out of bed and try to find out what it is.

If it sounded like a baby being strangled, then it was probably a fox.
