does ANYONE know what bathers/swim suits were first made of or what they have been made from over the years.

i know what they r made of now but what WERE they made of.

Canvas,

Something very heavy that did not mould to the shape of the wearer's body when it was wet.

I think it was canvas, or something like it. Random fact: One swim team back in the day weighted their suits with balls of concrete during practice, so when the final performance came they would go very fast.
