  1. Given that Natsia is the shortened version of Anastasia, obviously her parents did not name her with any real thoughts of possible future nicknames, not that there is anything wrong with Nastia; it clearly celebrates her ancestory, as she is Russian.

  2. I have no idea! but her nickname is nast, she's one hella good gymnast. And I agree, she's very pretty.

  3. They were thinking of what special child we have, with still more greatness to come, not only will she be special us, and  most of all God, who made her out of love for each other, but the whole world will love our Nastia as well! And they do don't they???

  4. She's my favorite gymnast and it takes a whole other kind of confidence to rock a pulled back hairstyle with that forehead like she did yesterday.

  5. Yeah, I'd be pretty p'd off after pushing that giant forehead out too... Nastia it is!

  6. Liukin is her last name. she's russian and moved to the US when she was a toddler. As for Nastia, it's short for Anastasia.

  7. Her parents probably named her because of their culture. Not all names are American/English. Nastia is probably a common name in different countries.

  8. Oh I have it worst than this.

  9. I think they misspelled it on the birth certificate and it stayed like that... Illiterate perhaps

  10. i have no f***ing i dea!

  11. Her real name is Anastasia!  I'm just going to guess Nastia is a traditional (Russian?) nickname lol.

And I'm also going to guess you can't exactly pick your last name lol.

Oh and I hope she and some of the others on the US team at least get some individual golds.  Go USA!
