    official rate of inflation = 200 000 %

    actual rate of inflation = 1 000 000 %

    They recently issued a 500 000 000 zim $ note!

    1 US dollar ($US) = 1 billion zimbabwean dollar ($Zim)!

    In the times when Zimbabwe was them known as Rhodesia, the inflation rate was probably about 2-5%

    Mugabe has turned what was one of Africa's most prosperous countries into a total h**l hole!

    Basically it's about how white farmers where kicked out by Mugabe and how farming (agriculture) was the backbone of the economy. Obviously with the absence of this sector, the economy went downhill--total free fall.
