  1. A lot of people wanted to restart the Great War.  Some of us still do..

  2. There were many causes:

The German invasion of Poland and the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor and British and Dutch colonies. Many feel that WWII was Hitler's personal war as he felt that Germany did not lose the first world war.

Alright this may bore you so i hope you can handle this. lol:

1.) Long economic depression sharpened national rivalries, increased fear and distrust, which caused invasion of other countries.

2.)Adolf Hitler, when he rose to power (1933) in Germany, recreated the German army and prepared it for a war of conquest; in 1936 he remilitarized the Rhineland. Benito Mussolini conquered Ethiopia for Italy; and from 1936 to 1939 the Spanish civil war raged, with Germany and Italy helping the fascist forces of Francisco Franco to victory. In Mar., 1938, Germany annexed Austria.

3.) World War II began on Sept. 1, 1939, when Germany, without a declaration of war, invaded Poland. Britain and France declared war on Germany on Sept. 3, and all the members of the Commonwealth of Nations, except Ireland, rapidly following. The fighting in Poland was brief. The German blitzkrieg, with its use of new techniques of mechanized and air warfare, destroyed the Polish defenses, and the conquest was almost complete when Soviet forces entered Eastern Poland.

4.)After World War I, a defeated Germany, disappointed Italy, and ambitious Japan were anxious to regain or increase their power, all three eventually adopted forms of dictatorship (like Nazism) that made the state supreme and called for expansion at the expense of neighboring countries (such as when Hitler was invading countries bordering Germany). These three countries also set themselves up as champions against Communism, thus gaining at some tolerance of their early actions from the more conservative groups in the Western democracies. Again the Soviet Union was a threat to Hitler. Infact one of the main reasons Hitler lost WWII wasn't just because of the US but also because of his huge mistake in invading the USSR during the winter, which caused a humiliating defeat. The Red Army (Soviets) was very powerful, about as good as America. With America and the Soviets aligning themselves against Germany, Hitler had no chance.

  3. Do your own homework!

  4. I certainly agree that the treaty of Versailles had a lot to do with it - Why doesn't anyone mention The Little Corporal anymore. He and the German People - for many reasons - started the European War so they could eventually rule the World.

The Japanese did the same in the Pacific.

Greed, glory, land, slaves, riches, POWER. What wars are ALWAYS fought for.

  5. Power, madness, greed, corruption, control...

  6. In the aftermath of World War I, a defeated Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles. This caused Germany to lose a significant portion of its territory, prohibited the annexation of other states, limited the size of German armed forces and imposed massive reparations. However when hitler came to power he re-militarized the rhineland which itself was a violation of the Treaty of Versailles. in March of 1938, Germany annexed Austria with very little opposition from other European powers.

Next Hitler moved military forces into Czechoslovakia. Which led to the full occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Germans.

In 1939 hitler invaded poland which ultimatly led britain, france and 53 other countries to declare war on germany

The rest as they say is history

    Hope i helped

  7. the rise of communism, colonistion, broken treaties, religous and ethnic differences.

  8. The way I always understood it is that WWI is the main catalyst for WWII.  Meaning, after WWI Germany was forced to pay an abundance of war reperations to other European nations involved in the conflict, as well as have severe restrictions placed on the military.  Germany was down and out, ignored and ripe for a charasmatic, hard talking, righteous man to step up and take power.  In came Hitler.  As far as the Japanese, I believe they were taking advantage of the European situation to attempt expansion, knowing full well Europe would be too occupied.  They only had the US to worry about as opposition.
