Transformers were big... the original ones. He-Man and She-Ra.

Girls had Barbie but that was for decades, not just the 80's. Strawberry Shortcake was big for a while.

Rubik's Cube was popular for a range of ages and genders.

And of course the rise of gaming consoles started in the 80's, with the Atari 2600 and other similar home game systems.
