Salt was abundant in as well as Gold, there had been a Gold-Salt trade established in Africa, and with that, it attracted many travelers and merchants, mainly because Salt was more valuable than Gold at the time, it could preserve foods and was a sign of wealth. With this attraction, Salt and Gold lured tourists and soon they began to go into other cities in Africa, namely Kush, where libraries were filled with books with knowledge far beyond other societies, it is here where some traveled to Africa to learn in these prestigious libraries. Salt and Gold brought new impacts, indirectly however, but they still brought big changes in societies at the time.
