What were the Tigers thinking?

I knew they needed to get ride of sheffield,pudge, and todd jones any way how but for prospects but when you trade pudge for a bum like kyle farnsworth....what is this....they better do some more dealin and get another person because brandon inge is good and pudge was getting old but inge isnt no pudge

I'm thinking the exact same thing. The Tigers wasted trading a good player. They should've traded Pudge for a young pitching prospect and not Farnsworth. I bet the Tigers are really happy about dealing Mike Rabelo now!

There are obviously some clubhouse issues with the Tigers, Leyland has offered this info in an offhand way a couple times this season. Best guess....Pudge was one of the "troublemakers" and therefore had to go. Getting Farnsworth wasnt great but what else could anyone expect to get for an aging catcher who couldnt catch as often this year and is signed at $10 mill.? Plus they need someone...anyone...to get outs from the pen. They free up some cash, get rid of a distraction and maybe even give a boost to their pen....not great but it could have been a lot worse!

Farnsworth is a former Tiger, and keep in mind that the Tigers needed a lot of bullpen help.
