  3. Ali-Frazier 1

    Ali-Shavers

    Robinson-Lamotta

    Chavez-Taylor 1

  4. Pulled in a little late on this one. Already some great answers and bouts.

The first and foremost that came to mind was John sullivan vs. Jim Corbett (The hard, tough slugger vs. the slick ring-thinking boxer. And the surprise it stirred at the time from all who witnessed it.)

The only others that come to mind are:

    Ali vs. Bonavena

Holmes vs. Cooney (due to the hype and build up of Gerry at the time.)

Tommy Farr vs. Max Baer (A old classic.)

The Tony Zale vs. Rocky Graziano trilogy

And the Ray Robinson vs. LaMotta wars.

  5. Ali-Frazier

    Ali-Shavers

    Ali-Cobb

    Ali-Wepner

    Ali-Foreman

    Hagler-Leonard

    Hagler-Hearns

    Gatti-Patterson

    Floyd Patterson-George Chuvalo

  6. Billy Conn v. Joe Louis

The lighter Billy Conn had him outboxed for the majority of the fight, then got careless and the slugger Louis caught him.  Fight over.

    Cassius Clay v. Sonny Liston

Sonny was supposed to have handled the lighter Clay easily, but the boxer outclassed him.

  7. Ali-Foreman

    Ali- Frasier

    De La Hoya- Gatti

  8. Alexis Arguaio V. Aaron Pryor

  9. Muhammad Ali VS Joe Frazier 1 and 3:

In both fights, Ali pretty much boxed away but Fraziers raw heart and ability to punch to the body aswell as his left hook, kept Ali staggering for air throughout the tough battles. A tough Boxer VS Slugger match.

Rocky Marciano VS Jersey Joe Walcott 1:

I dont think many other fights can be described as boxer vs slugger than this match was, Rocky was behind on points badly, had been knocked down, but kept in the fight with, once again raw heart and endless galons of stamina which allowed him to keep attacking and slugging like he did, then after 13 rounds of punishment, he landed that sluggers punch and won the title just like that.

My favorite fights and many probably agree.

  10. Leonard-Hearns 1.  Because both fighters abandoned their traditional style to adopt the style of the opponent.

    Leonard-Hagler.

  11. julio chavez vs meldrick taylor
