  1. Don't point fingers at your wife so quickly.

First of all, none of us can be 100% sure about our family history. We keep the last names of the fathers as family names--it doesn't mean they truly are the genetic parents.

Secondly, there could be a recessive gene on both sides that didn't get expressed for generations. No one for generations in my mother's family on either side has had red hair, my dad's brother had it, and my brother and I were born with it. No one in my husband's family has true red hair, yet all three of our children have red hair. (The gene for red hair is recessive and must be on both sides.) You could both be like my mother's family, not expressing a genetic trait for generations but actually carrying it.

  2. Don't stress it is possible! I have dark brown eyes (mexican & white) and my husband (mexican) has dark brown eyes.So do my parents and his.But my daughter came out with hazel eyes.Along the blood line someone had that color eyes.

  3. There are recessive genes.  Not too common, but possible.

  4. I agree with the recessive genes. It has to be somewhere in your blood that you just didn't know about! I have green eyes and I was just asking my husband how it was possible that I got green eyes haha. (My dad is Italian and has dark brown almost black eyes my mom has light blue eyes). So I understand the curiosity.

  5. paternity test dude

  6. You might ask yourself why you want to know?

  7. Somewhere in your or your wife's family tree is a white person.  The gene is recessive and has been passed down.  If this isn't true, you need a DNA test.

  8. um without cause family porblems i can say that unless you both have a gene for blue eyes it cant happen. and given your latin desent i would guess we have a problem here.
