  1. The usual culprit, stupidity. It's responsible for almost all incidents. All I know for certain is that the diver was experienced, it was a deep training dive and he was with buddies. I'm not sure what gas he was on. Narc'd or O2 tox, only the coroner will know. What I'd like to know is 1/ What gas and depth? 2/ What were his buddies doing while he was dying? 3/ Was his experience up to the dive and verified? 4/ Why did they all decide to ascend with the victim, when just one rescuer is usually all that's ever needed, at most 2, needlessly endangering themselves and anyone else that may have had to go in to rescue them in turn. Four of them needed the chamber. Sorry, but I've been with an unstoppable panicked diver before, you try, but stop when it's clear you may get hurt as well. No point in 2 divers unconcious at the surface as it makes the buddy system useless. I feel sorry for the families, but it's a lesson we all keep forgetting. Technical divers are NOT invincible and they need to follow the rules. You can't mess with physics or dive physiology. It'll bite you in the **** eventually.
