  1. Servants and lots of them

  2. The answer above is pretty comprehensive.  Most of the bigger houses would also have had a library/study and possibly a games room for the man of the house, while the woman would have had a private parlour, as well as a larger withdrawing room for when the ladies left the gentlmen at the dining table for their port and cigars.  This room, if big enough, could also be used to hold small private parties, while the really big houses owned by the aristocracy would have had their own ballroom.  There would also have been a breakfast parlour, separate from the dining room, which would seat a lot less people - most women tended to eat breakfast in their rooms, while the men tended to gather for breakfast.

  3. Of course, the Georgian period in England finished in the 1790s, to be followed by the Regency. But of course, Georgian townhouses were still being occupied in the years you mention. I assume, also, that  you measn town houses - whole books have been written about country houses. Basically, a town house would have a basement, housing the kitchen and butlers pantry/wine cellar. The cook and the butler would probably have living accommodation in the basement - the one to be near the kitrchen, theother to keep an eye on the family wines and silver. The ground floor (1st US) would have a grnad entrance hall and probably the dining room. The main rooms to greet and entertain guests in would be on the 1st (2nd US) floor. Above them would be the family bedrooms. Right in the attic/loft would be rooms for indoor staff - maids and footmen etc. The house would be heated entirely by coal fires - no central heating - and every main bedroom would have a fire to be lite by a ousemaid early every morning except on the warmest summer days.
