  1. Just about anything goes, however, belching is considered to be a compliment. Eating with your hands is fine and don't forget to give the serving wench a nice slap on the ****.

  2. They used the knife to bring the food to their mouths. Eating with a fork was considered rude.  The fork was a utensil used to hold the meat still while cutting.

  3. We do have a restaurant in Boston called the Medieval Manor is great..It's a theater production.  They serve you a 3 course meal...Great fun!!1

  4. Along with what was mentioned:

    - Being offered food by your host basically ensured that you were protected under their household banner for the extent of your stay

    - You always made a toast to thank the host for their meat and mead

    - Eat your meal first, then eat the trencher!

    - Drink til you're drunk

  5. i know one of the things they did was leave some food on their plate for those that were no longer with them.

don't eat or drink until the host does

and they used their hands alot and threw the bones, etc on the floor (but don't do that if you are eating out at a medieval dinner)

  6. First off, men need to allow the ladies to take a seat first and actually help them with their chairs. You don't eat until either the host begins or asks for you to do so. You must put your napkin on your lap and return it to the table once you have finished your meal. Yes, leave some food on your plate and call many toasts to the host. Direct the conversation to your host and announce when you are finished with your meal and leave the table quietly.
