  1. Piers Gaveston and Hugh le Despenser, the younger.

  2. Hugh Despenser, 1st Lord Despenser (1286 – November 24, 1326) was a favorite of Edward II. In May 1306 Hugh was knighted, and that summer he married Eleanor de Clare, who was also the niece of Edward II of England, and this connection brought Hugh closer to the English royal court. Hugh became royal chamberlain in 1318. As a royal courtier, Hugh manoeuvred into the affections of King Edward, displacing the previous favourite, Roger d'Amory.

Sir Roger d'Amory, Lord d'Amory, Baron of Armoy in Ireland, (b. ca. 1290 – d. bef. March 14, 1321) was a nobleman and Constable of Corfe Castle. He had been a favorite of King Edward II of England until he was displaced by Hugh the younger Despenser. d'Amory took an active part in the Despencer war in 1321-22 and was one of th principals in this affair.

Piers Gaveston, 1st Earl of Cornwall (c. 1284 – 19 June 1312) was the favourite, and possibly lover, of King Edward II of England.  The two men, who were of approximately the same age, may have had a homosexual relationship, and Edward's preference for the company of Gaveston over that of his wife, whatever the motives, is generally agreed by historians as having created early discord in the Royal marriage.

  3. Piers Gaveston & Hugh Despenser
