  1. Was your question, "I what ways did the French and Indian War alter political, economical and ideological relations between Britain and its colonies? (1740-1776)"

  2. The beginning of anti-British feelings. The British before had not been in the lives of the colonist; basically practicing salutary neglect where the colonist were some what autonomous.

So because the war had been so costly the British felt that the colonist should help pay for some of the war cost by imposing taxes; which led to protest.

The people especially got even more mad when the British imposed teh Proclamation of 17(something, sorry forgot the year) that forbade the colonist from settling in the land that they had help fought for (the French lost and therefore gave up nearly all or all of their holdings). The colonist pretty much began to get rowdy forcing the British hands to bring in more people from the Motherland to monitor the colonist through the Red Coats or by bringing in new Govenors. And of course, this eventually led to the American revolution.

  3.   The Treaty of Paris in 1763 kicked the French out of the North

      American continent.

    1. Britain got everything in North American, including Florida, East of

         the Mississippi River.

      2. Spain got everything West of the Mississippi River.

The British were the strongest military and Economic Power in the

World, no other country would/could challange her.

BUT THERE WERE PROBLEMS FOR BRITAIN.

      1. The war cost a lot and placed a huge debt on the English which

the merchants and businessmen were not in a mood to pay. The

idea started to circulate that maybe the colonies should be taxed

to pay for the war. This started a chain of events which proved

disasterous for Britain and resulted in the 13 North American

Colonies breaking away from England anfd becoming the United

        States.

      2. The British had to fight an Indian war with Pontiac, an Indian leader

in the Ohio Valley. The result of this was an attempt by the British

to stop American Colonial settlers from going west of the

Applachian Mountains, The Proclamation Line of 1763. This further

inflamed British--American relations, see the answer above.

      3. Britain dropped its policy of salutary neglect, ignoring the Trade

Laws, like the Navigation Acts, and tried to vigorously enforce its

Trade Laws arresting smugglers. This ticked off the main smugglers

in New England, where all of the rich merchants smuggled, espcally

one guy named John Hancock. Mr. Hancock along with his lawyer,

Sam Adams, formed "The Sons of Liberty" which helped the

Americans decide to separate from the British, but that is another

       story.

                  Hope it helps. Packers.
