  1. This might be hard for feminist to believe, but non noble men and women, the majority of people, were equal in their suffering. Universal male sufferage wasn't introduced until the late 18th century.


  2. Europe was feudal in the 15th and 16th centuries, so men would have been tied to their parish and their role as a serf on the land.  Men were seen as subjects to the King.  They would also probably have some sort of cottage industry, or graze their animals on common land.  Hope it helped :-)
