What where these GLOBAL WARMING SCIENTIST DOING BEFOR global warming?

Nothing. Today's climatologists were not alive when the current accelerated warming period began in the early 1800s as a result of the Industrial Revolution.

However, before the recent increase in public awareness of global warming, climatologists were doing what they still are, and always will do: going out and measuring things, then plotting the data on graphs.

They are probably doing nothing... they can scream about problems but dont wanna fix them plus as the earth ages it goes through climate changes the last ice age wasnt to terribly long ago... sooner or later they come up with the whole ice age scare...

They all had good scientific jobs, at universities, with the government, in industry.

The idea that this was some kind of boon for them is ridiculous.

Many of the "skeptics", on the other hand, are old retired guys who were no longer earning much money, or getting much attention.  "Skepticism" has been far more profitable for them than science has been for the vast majority of climatologists.

Well in the 70's, they were all telling us we were causing an Ice Age because it was cooler than average in most of the 70's. Then the 80's came around and it started warming up and they kinda disappeared for a while. It kept warming so then they started whining  about Global Warming. NOW it has cooled a bit this year and low and behold we don't have an Ice Age and we don't have Global Warming, WE HAVE,OMG, CLIMATE CHANGE!!!

Theories about the greenhouse effect from pollution has been around since 1820s.

Anyways the vast majority of people studying climate change are climate scientists, who would do none of the things you mentioned if global warming was not being studied.  Many of them chose the field before global warming even became a major public concern.  

As climate scientists, they would be studying the climate and what effects it, whether or not global warming is a concern has no bearing on this.  There are many other ways their research is helpful that has nothing to do with global warming.

The lack of basic knowledge about the science community from certain people is frightning.   Global warming or not, CLIMATE SCIENTISTS WOULD NEVER BE LOOKING FOR BIG FOOT as part of their job nor saving whales.  (Very rarely would any scientist at all be looking for bigfoot as part of their job.)  There is a MAJOR difference between zoologist, and biologists, and then climate scientists.  Do you people honestly think they all scientists are interchangable?

the idea of global warming has been around since the 60's or 70's i think.... so it's been around before... i'm sure the people before them studies gasses and stuff in that atmostphere and the environment...

They were scaring us that the sky was falling before, remember: Save the whales,  Save the Rain forest, Save the ocean, Stop the hole in the ozone layer...etc.  Any "enviromentalist" can find something wrong with the planet and scare you into changing your life.
