Glam? His tenure with Roxy Music and albums such as Here Come the Warm Jets and Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy).

Ambient? Albums such as Music for Airports and Thursday Afternoon. "An Ending (Ascent)"-type songs.

As a producer? He's produced popular albums for U2 (The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree) and Coldplay (Viva la Vida...). He was also deeply involved with David Bowie's Berlin trilogy (including Low and "Heroes").

  1. Inventing ambient music.

    He changed music forever.

  2. Dancing and tickling the feet of the butler. I cherry pop the plastic water and translate the speaking voice of the question mark. Ha ha ha, you've never seen it before, have you? I could show you. It's so beautiful and bright. I can't tell you more, I have to I have to...

Also liked his work with Robert Fripp.

  5. Despite his massive Volume of Compositions.

I think he will be remembered as a Producer.

Taking Bands and making them more Interesting.

David Bowie ( Low ) - which is considered to be what Roxy may have sounded like in 1977, had Eno stayed ( theory )

    The 1st Ultravox ( Landmark Album )

The 2nd Talking Heads ( More Songs about Buildings & Food )

The 1st Devo ( but dramatically different than the 4-song EP)

    The 4th U2 ( The Unforgettable Fire)

With Roxy - He did NO composing.  He did build a variety of Filter-Boxes for Instruments and was the Primary Reason for that "Enoesque" sound on the first 2 Roxy's -- but Ferry still deserves credit for the Song Ideas.

He contributed heavily to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" by Genesis, but only receives credit as "Enosification."

My Fave Albums are "Another Green World," "Discreet Music" (heavily influenced by Terry Riley's "tape loop" experiments of the 1960s), "No Pussyfooting," "Evening Star," "Before and After Science," "Music for Films," and the 2nd Ambient album, "Music for Airports (Discreet being the First).

h**l - Let's throw in "Here Come the Warm Jets" & "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy," too !! LOL.

as well as "Nerve Net" (very underrated)

He is a one of a Kind - and He got sleep with Julie Christie in her Prime.

    What a Great Life !! :)

    Good Question !!
