By that time we'll have gone through at least two more cycles of warming and cooling so there's really no way to be certain.  The so-called melting of the Arctic Ocean is cyclic as well and it has already refrozen, while the collapse of the Antarctic ice shelves is due to an increase in ice on that continent (the weight of ice in the interior forces it to the coast).  In the longer term it takes 800 years for the ocean to heat or cool so things probably won't be much different from today.

I know that it takes 30 years for the ocean temperature to adapt and be the same as the air temperature thus meaning that the damage we do now in 2038 will affect the ocean temperature causing melting of the north and south poles.

DEFINATLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! look theres no knowing what to expect... BUT. the poles have already started melting! sea creatures are dying off as in the past 5 years the temp. has raised by 3 degrees!!!! coral has died as have other things!!!!! so yes.. by 2030 global warming will have effected us ALOT!
