I'm getting a new cell phone and I was just wondering what I will lose. Do I just put my sim card in the new phone? Will I lose all my contacts, pictures, ringtones and stuff? What about text messages and stuff? Will I get to keep anything from my old phone?

  1. you will lose everything stored on a memorycard unless there is no memoiry card on the old phone you will need to transfer all contacts from your old phone to the sim ard before the switch.

i will say other than contacts, appointments, notes, you will lose missed calls and those kind of things.

  2. if you have a sim card, be sure that all your contacts are saved to that card. Do you have a Micro SD card in your phone as well?  If not, then the only thing you will retain is your contacts.  If you bought any games, ringtones, etc from your cell carrier, they will likely send them to your new phone as a courtesy.  Just call them and ask them to send you the games, etc. that you had on your old phone.  T-mobile always sent me my old ringtones and so forth.
