  1. Political Parties do private polling which isn't reported. McCain could see his numbers are down and chose someone he thought could energize his base. That's a Rove tactic which worked in 2004, but won't this time as there are no anti g*y marriage amendments in battleground states like Ohio.

If Palin actually had experience in Washington as a Senator or congressman in addition to a term as governor, McCain could had made a nice case for her. But it is really laughable the efforts he's made to promote her. She is not all that smart, showing an aptitude to get quickly up to speed. As events have shown, McCain chose her on impulse.

I think McCain had an intelligent rationale for picking Palin, but that was good for 2004 , not this time.

  2. McSenile should be getting a big bump in the polls because it's his convention. Instead, people are moving left in droves. How funny.

  3. It probably is a CBS poll and you can't put much into that because we know it will have a left wing liberal bias agenda. The 8 pt lead will disappear and McCain will have a 15 pt lead after the Convention. The Dems are in desperation mode with Palin. They know they will be skunked again.

  4. Were you not saying last week that polls are not important?

  5. When McCain is ahead will you still value polls.

  6. POLLS do not matter it is the obvious that Obama has the upper hand by far but don't acknowledge polls because they are about as worthless as used toilet paper!!

  7. I suppose he'll quit the race.  Oh wait, that was that dope Al Gore.

  8. The only valid polls are Gallup and Rasmussen. They have it at 3pts, and it will bounce after the Convention.

Obama's links to Ayer and Farrukhan will be his undoing. The Republican's haven't even started the real campaign.

  9. Polls are c**p.

  10. I don't know what.  His pick, if I understand correctly, was not really vetted well. They're just vetting her now? Speaks about Mccain's judgement.

I understand he wanted to pick Liberman but his main advisor Charlie Black told him not too...so he went with Palin. It's such chaos...dissarray. It's a glimpse of things to come:(

  11. He'll appeal like he appeals, at a grassroots level, talking to people in town halls. Just because Obama's leading in certain polls doesn't mean it's all over for McCain. He's a good man, with a good head on his shoulders and some decent ideas to help this country. Don't count him out.

  12. He will have to bite the bullet

  13. he'll say, my friends, I've beaten the odds before.

  14. I don't listen to the media's coverage, they are biased and are trying to influence the voters that since he is so "popular: we should vote for him. FYI, there are people in this country who still think, so they will vote McCain in November.

  15. He will make vicious jokes about Palin's daughter the way he did Chelsea Clinton for being ugly.  Then he will just be a mean old white man instead of a stupid for picking Palin mean old white man.

  16. This is the ONLY poll that shows Obama with that type of lead. I wonder WHO they were polling?

  17. I wouldn't call "one out of five" independents a "swing."

Not to mention that CBS is one of the leftist media outlets that likes to report how much trouble the economy is in ... when the truth is exactly the opposite.

FOX  News poll shows Obama 48.8 to McCain 44.3 -- just goes to show you that sources make a big difference.
