Lets say I bring a freshly dead bird into a taxidermist. Will he 'stuff' it and mount it, etc even with all the innards and meat still in it? Or will I need to clean it first. Thank you.

  1. They are stuffed, therefore nothing of the organs are left.

  2. Talk the Taxidermist first.  Most want  the whole bird.  it easier for them to clean it. that way you don't make a costly mistake

  3. cleans it first. none of that stuff is in it. Infact the only real part left after the process on a bird would be the beak, feathers and feet. its eyes are replaced with glass replicas.

  4. most taxidermists will want you to bring them the entire bird, but he will basically just skin the entire bird and the stretch that skin over a frame

  5. A taxidermist /should/ prepare it to be stuffed and mounted himself, but not all will do it. You should talk to the taxidermist himself involved, most should prepare it.

  6. Ask your taxedermist - some of them will do all of that for you.  however, if they don't, you will need to to "gut" it.  The taxidermist will do the rest.  Just ask a redneck what "gut" is.

  7. They calean the bird out first.
