There is so much controversy surrounding these Olympics. The Chinese were phenomenal until all of the stories came out:

1. Fake fireworks

2. Deceiving the viewers into thinking Lin Miaoke was singing http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20080812/oly_fireworks_080812/20080812?hub=TopStories&s_name=

3. France trash talking about the U.S. http://www.e-nough.hmdnsgroup.com/archives/002034.html

3. Spain offending the Chinese in the picture http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Spanish-basketball-team-poses-for-offensive-pict?urn=oly,100152

4. Chinese women gymnasts possibly being underage http://www.newser.com/story/33470/chinese-gymnasts-may-be-underage.html

5. China even being picked for the Olympics with their human rights record http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_People

6. China putting tons of pressure on its teams, specifically the gymnastics team http://news.ph.msn.com/sport/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1595301

It has been a beautiful host nation but, really? How can you ignore these things? There are a lot of controversies. Is this what China will be remembered for?

  1. 1.  Underage (under 15) gymnasts and divers with horrible jacked up goat looking baby teeth.....

    2.  Same underage athletes with forced cheesy "smiles" courtesy of the communist party making people all over the world vomit with that mouthful of yellow crusty.....  nevermind.....

    3.  Spanish Basketball team making fun of the "cheating" host country with a tongue in cheek photoshoot, but China took it in a bad way because they're not allowed to have a sense of humor.

    4.  Gymnastics judges being "coerced" to make China's opponents look bad by deducting points for not making mistakes, but adding "style and creativity" points to China's totals even though they make highly visible mistakes in their apparatuses and floor exercises.

    5.  The IOC being blind or getting "reprogrammed" to accept fake birth certificates of probably 50% of China's athletes because they were bred to become "ringers" from the day of birth in their individual sports.

    6.  I don't think that China was wrong in saying that the singer was "ugly", because if you look at their gymnastics and diving team, they're equally ugly with yellow crooked teeth and boyish underdeveloped bodies that should belong fully clothed and growing rice or herding goats somewhere in "middle of nowhere" China!

  2. I hope it's associated with China's poor human rights record. Then maybe the Chinese government will begin to open its eyes and realize that things have to change.

  3. I think so. It was beautiful, all around but, you cannot ignore this.

And also, it does matter; China wants to step out in front the pack and claim they're the perfect country, then they deserve to be judged that way.
