  1. A plane ticket and a passport ought to do it

  2. If you are a U.S Citizen you need your U.S ID and generally that's it. However I heard by the summer they are cracking down and everyone must get a passport. If you are a Mexican citizen I don't know, you may not be able to get in without a green card or work permit

EDIT whoops that the opposite way around.

I have been to Mexico many times and you can walk right into Mexico! On the way back they generally only need your U.S ID. One time I was turned down because I was 17 at the time and there were cops who wouldn't let us in because of curfew, but that was at 11 at night. So if you're 18 you'll never have to worry about that, that was an extremely rare circumstance any way.

  3. Scorpion repellent. The desert is loaded with 'em!

  4. More conciesly...passports are required to FLY to and from Mexico.  For LAND travel, you need a photo I.d. and a proof of citizenship...which can be a pssport OR a birth certificate.  Passports for aLAND travel date will prob. be summer 2009.  See site below and read top half of page carefully.

  5. Funny, My geography teacher was just telling us this...

    1) Passport

    2) A Visa (a slip that tells you how long you can be in the country)

    3) Papers that show where u were born

That's all I can think of

(Coming back, you must have Photo ID, birth certificates or something that shows u live in the US so u r not an immigrant.

  6. NOTHING... just walk or drive over... why would you think you need something to ENTER Mexico... now, coming back into the U.S... then you need a GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO  ID... or, preferably, a Passport

Unlike all these experts on here, who have never been in Mexico, I was just down there a couple of weeks ago and there are BIG SIGNS all over the checkpoints that the requirement of a passport has been rolled back until JUNE 2009... you just need a government issued photo ID... or a CERTIFIED COPY of your birth certificate... but the Passport is still the best.

If you are entering the U.S. by PLANE OR BOAT... you MUST have a PASSPORT... but walking or by car... photo ID, birth cert. or passport.

The ONLY document you need to enter ANY country is a PASSPORT... you do not need a passport and something else.  I just wish these 'experts' who have never been outside the state they were born in, let alone crossed a border, would stop giving out their bad and wrong advice.

For the record, when I come back into the U.S. I just hand them my U.S. Passport and NOTHING ELSE... and so does everyone else in the line... If you don't have a passport you need 2 documents... but NOT WITH A PASSPORT.

  7. A river with gators.

  8. Passport in hand please!

  9. Actually nothing will be needed to enter Mexico however to return to the US, you will need a passport and an ID.   NO EXCEPTIONS.  Mexico doesn't care who comes there.  They want your tourist dollars.  Just make sure you have the correct documentation to enter back into the US.  If that is your plan.  I live in Texas so I am very familiar with the border crossing laws.  And just so you know, there are new passport regulations and prices.  Hope this helps.    http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbp...

  10. nothing in the border

  11. Used to be that if you drove in you only needed a birth certificate but now no matter if you drive or fly you need a passport!  Have a good trip!

  12. nothing, but to return youll need a passport
